Our "basic" kits can be configured with the highest-performance motors, batteries, and speed controllers available and naturally those can be expensive. You can also choose to order your kit with our low-cost E-150 motors or with no motors at all and finish your robot using surplus motors and lower-cost batteries and speed controllers. It's up to you! See below for a table showing the weights of all the optional components.

The prices for our basic kits include the drive modules with all the drive train components, wheels, bulkheads, and base plates. The feather weight also includes front, top, and rear armor and all the mechanical components required for a basic wedge robot. All kits are shipped fully assembled and tested, (except for electrical connections).

The price and weight of the wheels are already included in the basic kits but they are also available separately. The wheels weigh 1.1 pounds, (or 4.4 pounds for a set of four).

Notes to above chart:
A. Up to four MC-545 batteries and two AmpFlow controllers can be bolted into the middle weight at the same time. This requires two additional bulkheads which we provide free of charge.
B. MC-680 batteries will not fit into robots with more than two motors. Use the MC-545 instead.
C. The Middle weight robot will operate marginally well with two E-150 motors - we recommend the use of four E-150 motors with the Middle weight. Heavy weight robots require four E-150 or two S28 motors. The high speed reduction ratio is not available for use with the E-150 motors.
